LIFE 2023 – Religion & The Crisis of Identity

Introduction
On June 17th-18th, the Ahl al-Bayt Islamic Seminary and the Baitul Ilm Academy will be hosting the 2023 LIFE Special Seminar: Religion and the Crisis of Identity.
This year, LIFE will consist of the following four panels:
- Islamic Identity & Gender: Addressing Paradigm Shifts
- Sacred Shifts: The Waning Influence of Religion and the Rise of Alternative Spirituality
- Nurturing Hearts and Minds: Islamic Elements of Holistic Education;
- Fostering a Vibrant Community: Diverse Approaches to Future Success.
Each of these topics has been specially selected for its importance and relevance in fostering an ethical and faithful Islamic life, both for individuals and our communities. We will be joined by a number of prominent scholars and speakers from across the US, who will expand on the topics and guide us in navigating these difficult questions.
To accommodate a wider audience, the 2023 LIFE Special Seminar will be held in a hybrid format: For Chicago residents, we urge in-person participation at the Baitul Ilm Academy in Chicago, IL. For attendees outside of Chicago, online participation will be available.
Sessions will run from 1:30pm - 7pm CDT.
Lunch and light refreshments will be served for in-person participants.
