Definition: The basic structure of a word, distinguishing between the root letters and the added letters. To indicate the root letters, the first root letter is called the فاء الفعل and is replaced with a فاء, the second is the عين الفعل and is replaced with an عين, and the third, the لام الفعل and is replaced with a لام.
